چکیده

suspensions from DBA/2 mice. Under the same conditions any immune response in DBA/2 mice was doubtful. Pretreatment with normal or x-radiated normal DBA/2 spleen did not protect CDBA animals against L1210 challenge. DBA/2 skin grafts were rejected by a proportion of normal CDBA animals and by CDBA animals preimmunized with L1210. The rejections were late—about 140 days for normal animals and 93 days for the immune mice. Control grafts of CDBA or of BALB/c skin were uni formly accepted. Possible explanations for the unexpected rejection of DBA/2 skin grafts by the Fi hybrids are considered. The variation in response to L1210 between DBA/2 and CDBA animals is discussed with reference to possible approaches for alter ing the host-tumor relationship so as to augment the effect of chemotherapy.

Combined effects of chemotherapy and immunity against leukemia L1210 in DBA-2 mice.

SUMMARY DBA/2 mice inoculated with the strain-specific leukemia L1210 survived more than 50 days as a result of the combined effects of drug treatments and immunity. Differences in Li 210 immunogenicity were noted among 3 sublines of DBA/2 mouse strain. The therapeutic effects occurred also in DBA/2 sublines in which L1210 is weakly immunogenic and at drug doses which are immunodepressant per s...

Analysis and reversal of the inhibition of cytophilic antibody receptors produced by antibody.

Administration of hyperimmune antibody to leukemia L1210 to allogeneic mice inhibited the development of macrophage-mediated immunity to L1210 in those hosts. In contrast to immunized mice, animals pretreated with antibody showed rapid activation of their peritoneal macrophages, followed by their disappearance and the inability of the residual peritoneal monocytic cells to attach L1210 cells ev...

Induction of high-grade tumor-specific immunity in a host using a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte clone specific for a stable tumor antigen on murine leukemia L1210.

T-cell clone K4L, the cell surface phenotypes of which were Thy-1+, Lyt-1-, Lyt-2+, and L3T4-, was established from the spleen cells of a murine leukemia L1210-immune mouse. Clone K4L was specific for antigen B on L1210, and this antigen was different from antigen A for which the previously reported T-cell clone K7L was specific. K4L possessed cytotoxicity and tumor growth-inhibitory activity a...

The fungus among us: use of white rot fungi to biodegrade environmental pollutants.

Cyclosporin A (CsA) is an effective modulator of multidrug resistance (MDR) in vitro and in murine tumour systems in vivo. We now report the production of immunity to L1210 leukaemia by the addition of CsA to VP-16 therapy of leukaemic BDF/1 mice. VP-16/cyclosporin A tumour immunity induction arises as a consequence of active therapy independently of immunisation with modified tumour cells. The...

Chemical and biological adjuvants capable of potentiating tumor cell vaccine.

With an L1210 tumor vaccine model, three biological and two chemical agents were tested for their ability to act as adjuvants. Adjuvant was administered with irradiated L1210 cells to immunize mice against this poorly immunogenic tumor. Two chemicals, pyran copolymer and glucan, and one biological, Brucella abortus strain 456 ether extract, were shown to be strong stimulators of antitumor immun...
